1 in 4 shelter dogs are purebred and breed-specific rescue groups exist for every breed?

Many pets at your local shelter are waiting for new homes because they were obtained by someone with unrealistic expectations of the time, effort, and money required to sustain a lifelong relationship with their pet?

That the cost of spaying and neutering a pet is less than the cost of raising puppies or kittens for one year?

The average cost of basic food, supplies, medical care and training for a dog or cat is $400 to $700 annually?

IF YOU SUSPECT ABUSE ...

Call 911 if you are witnessing cruelty at this moment!

A $30 classroom subscription includes 28 copies of KIND News, enough for every student in the class, plus a teacher’s guide each month of the school year, September through May.

The Humane Society of the US’s Mission: Humane gets young people actively involved in animal protection and provides resources for classroom teachers. The program provides projects for elementary-school students and teens, resources for forming clubs and taking action, and rewards for activities. Projects are designed to get young people working on the most important issues affecting animals today.
